With an absorbing interest in art from the beginning, I attended The Heatherley School of Fine Art in Warwick Square, followed by 2 years as a fashion artist at Aquascutum in Regent Street. I then set up my own fashion photography business, which I successfully ran for a number of years.
In 1982, I set up ‘Swansong Antiques’ in Kent with my business partner. Together we organised auctions, fairs and many events from the shop. A second shop then took shape and this progressed into ‘Antiques and Interiors’. In 1990, I began to concentrate on the antiques trade rather than just retail.
With a broad knowledge of antiques, I ran a very successful stand at Kempton Antiques Market for 13 years, building up a healthy number of trade contacts in the antiques business.
Selling eclectic and diverse pieces together with decorator’s items, I explored many areas of design connected with antiques and contemporary decoration.
